Rimworld on the other hand is a colony manager much like the hordes of games like it, but more lively and straightforward since your pawns live their lives as what I would assume to be a persons, build relationships (good and bad), etc. Maybe the strongest? Maybe try to be evil? (despite slavery not being proper slavery.Honestly I have no idea how it works in that game and none idea if it is even implemented for players to have slaves but the player may become a slave) and some other stuff you may find in a youtube video. You spawn in as a weakling and it is up to you as to what you may want to become. Kenshi is a true sandbox (not many games like it) where the player is driven by his own ideas and goals which the game does not give to you. Rimworld 1.0 now has 64bit support which heavily changes how the game runs in a positive way. What I personally find lacking in Rimworld is just the vanilla game I find it boring (unless a new update has released with new content) and mods just bring more to the table, along with more challenges) There are also no quests (only minor ones like to murder a faction leader to become another factions ally, bounty hunting, and some others i may be missing) besides those you pick as a player. Sure some of the people you may recruit have some unique dialogues and comments to your everyday travels but other than that, there is not much. Thus is hard for any of us to have a say on this, Ive only watch 3-4 hours of Kenshi gameplay on youtube but it seems promising. Kenshi looks more like mount and blade warband then Rimworld. What I find lackluster in Kenshi is just how your character(s) are lifeless. 1 OneKingDown 12:26pm You re comparing an apple to an orange if you ask me. You can also see your character(s) develop as they get stronger (strong characters get buff visually and bigger) which is nice to see. Keep in mind, Kenshi is still in EA and Rimworld is most likely going to be seeing a full release this year (1.0 unstable has been out for a while now) Kenshi has a much deeper lore than that in Rimworld, and offers better eye candy with the gore, decapitation, and all that sweet stuff. so all your inhabitants are more or less strictly just your squaddies or mercs giving it less of a homey feel i guess but more of a fort or outpost.Ĭontent wise, both games have it spot on i guess. And besides, in Kenshi even if you do build up a settlement, there won't be any settlers to call it home, pay taxes (as your town does to a neighboring faction if they do tax), etc. You do not start managing your town in Kenshi until later on in the game when you have a capable squad (unless you fancy getting raided constantly and thrown out your own home). If you're looking forwards to the colony management side, then Rimworld is your pick. Unlike Kenshi, Rimworld is highly moddable and well, it offers alot more in that department. Kenshi is an interesting game for what it is but if you wish to play for much longer, I'd go with Rimworld.
